The Settings page can be accessed by logging into your Joltmailer account and clicking the Settings page in the dashboard.  Below are the available settings options.

1. SMTP Configuration

  • Disable SMTP: Click the checkbox to enable or disable SMTP use. If disabled, your local mail system will be used to send emails. Enabling it will allow you to use a third-party SMTP provider, requiring the entry of SMTP details in the next step.

2. SMTP Server Settings

  • SMTP Server Address: Enter the address of your SMTP server.
  • Username: Provide the username for SMTP authentication.
  • Password: Enter the password for SMTP authentication.
  • Port: Specify the port to use for sending emails. Most SMTP providers use port 587, 25, 2587 or 2525. Confirm with your provider.

* We recommend using Amazon SES, SendGrid, Smtp2go, or Mailjet.

3. Sender Information

  • Sender Email: Enter the sender’s email address.
  • Sender Name: Provide the sender’s name. Some email providers like Gmail and Yahoo may require the sender’s email and name to match the sender’s domain IP address.

4. RSS to Email Automation

  • RSS Feed URL: Enter the URL of your blog post-RSS feed.
  • Feed Items per Newsletter: Set the number of RSS feed items to include in each newsletter.
  • Feed Title or Heading: Define the title or heading for your RSS feed content.

5. Feed Automation Schedule

  • Frequency: Choose how often you want to send your feed updates – daily, weekly, or monthly.
  • Time: Set the exact time in Eastern Time when the feed should be sent.
  • Day of the Week: If you choose to send weekly, select the day of the week for sending.

6. Whitelisted Domain

  • Specify the domains that are allowed to send feed details and subscriber information.

7. Email Sending Rate

  • Enter the desired rate at which emails should be sent. Note that email-sending rates are subject to the policies of your SMTP Service Provider.

8. Link Click Tracking

Select the checkbox to enable or disable link click tracking in your emails. When link tracking is enabled, a table displaying link click reports will appear.

9. Delete Link Tracking Data

Click the delete tracking data button to delete link click reports if the table becomes too long.

Security Settings

The Security settings page can be accessed by clicking the security tab in the sidebar of Joltmailer dashboard.

Security Code

Use your login password to set the security code. You can enable security settings for;

  • Subscribers import and export
  • Newsletter sending
  • RSS feed automation details modification

If enabled, a security code will be required to perform any actions on any of the 3 sections. It is important to enable security in Newsletter Sending to prevent accidental actions.

2FA

To enable two-factor authentication (2FA), you will need to download and install the Google Authenticator app (iOS or Android). You will then be required to enter the 2FA code generated by the app each time you log in. You can disable 2FA anytime (but must be logged in to disable it).

The benefit of Google Authenticator over other auth apps is that it has the option to sync 2FA codes to your Google account. This prevents being locked out of your Joltmailer account if you lose your device.
